I am living in a 5 bedroom house in which 4 will be available from July/August.
The house:
All bedrooms are double rooms, 3 are larger than the other. The largest double room has a smaller room coming off it, previously occupied by a fashion student who used the smaller room for sewing.
All rooms come furnished with a single bed, metal-frame canvas wardrobe, chest of drawers, desk and chair. Through experience, it is possible to fit a futon (creates double bed) in the smaller rooms, as well as using the single bed, and still have plenty of floor space.
The living room is quite large, there is plenty of space for everyone plus a few guests. The kitchen is also large with plenty of counter-top and cupboard space. The bathroom comes fitted with a decent power-shower.
The location:
The house is situated on Caerleon road, only a 10 min walk from the city centre. The Uni bus stop is located literally 30 seconds away and the local shops only a couple of minutes in the opposite direction.
The important stuff:
The rent is £200 a month plus bills. The bills are very reasonable, water and tv license are paid in one lump-sum coming to a total of about £50 each for the year; tv and broadband are with Virgin Media costing £6.50/month each; gas and electric varies but comes to no more than £50/month each if used sensibly. Overall costing about £250 - £260 a month. THIS IS VERY CHEAP FOR THE HOUSE YOU GET!!
The tenancy agreement is signed upon arrival and 1 months rent is required as deposit. Rent is required for the whole year but the summer months are half the original price.
Home Rental Services handle all tenancy issues. Council Tax Exemption goes straight to the council. And bills are the responsibility of the tenants.
Overall the house is absolutely brilliant, and a bargain. You will be sorry to miss out.
