There's a placement opportunity at the Sesame Counselling Service that you might well find worth exploring. Sesame is a charitable donation based counselling service that serves the Newport community. It operates on a Tuesday evening only between 6pm and 9pm and doesn't specialise in a particular client group so you would have the opportunity to work with a wide range of presenting issues - something that's particularly helpful at the start of a counselling career. All of the staff at Sesame are volunteers and the agency provides insurance and free monthly supervision. Sesame holds regular training days (quarterly) for its staff which are free.
