We've been making counselling videos here for the last eight years or so, and have built up a significant catalogue of titles.

This is constantly growing - there'll be a new CBT one coming out in a month or so - but the one thing we don't make any more is VHS videos - they're all DVDs. We've still got a lot of old VHS stock though, and that's only moving very slowly now. We want to clear out all this old stock so we're going to sell it all off at the bargain price of £10 a piece, as long as you can pick it up directly from the school office. Have a look at the catalogue, and then give Carl Sykes a call - either by email or on 01633-432531. Some titles we've already run out of, and others we can't let you have a booklet, just a printout of it's text, but given that our cheapest VHS tapes have been selling at £40 this is quite a bargain.

As you may have seen from an earlier posting, the School is intersted in exploring Second Life. I'm particularly interested in the possibility of running skills practice sessions there - we've got a counselling room which looks nothing like a classroom in AYY - from the outside or the the inside -

- but once you get inside and sit down it really doesn't feel like such an alien environment. Certainly there are nicer looking chairs. If you're interested in getting some feedback on your skills I'd be happy to arrange a meeting and if there's sufficient demand I'll set up a regular time when we can all meet up. You first step to is simply to set up a 2nd Life Account, and you'll find an easy to follow guide to doing that here - http://sites.google.com/site/secondlifeuwnshss/site-files/Second_Life_Training_Guidev1.3.doc?attredirects=0

Once you've got yourself sorted out drop me an email and we'll set something up - you won't be able to get at the counselling room because it's by invitation only, but you can visit the School's Island (once you have the Second Life account) by using this link -

Apologies, there seem to be more recipes than counselling at the moment - hopefully that won't go on for too long. This is a classic sweet and sour sauce recipe, it tastes great and seems to last a long time in the fridge without coming to any harm. That will be the brown sugar, of course, which doesn't make this the healthiest of recipes I'm afraid - just a very tasty one.

12oz Brown Sugar
12 Tb Vinegar
6 Tb Orange Juice
6 Tb Tomato Pure
6 Tb Soya Sauce
.5 tsp cayenne
2 Tb Hoisin Sauce (optional)
2 Tb black or yellow bean sauce (also optional)
1 Tb Cornflour

Combine all ingredients except cornflour and bring to boil, mix the cornflour with a little sherry, white wine or whatever and add to the sauce to thicken. That's it. There's enough for several meals here so what you don't use just keep for the next time.
