We've just completed our latest Video/DVD. It's called "CBT Skills in Practice" and should be released in the next few days, with a copy going into the library by the end of this week.
The blurb (hopefully) says it all -
This programme offers the viewer the opportunity to develop a clear understanding of the trajectory and development of a CBT relationship as it runs from the first session through to the last. Frank Wills, a highly experienced therapist and the author of several books on CBT, conducted a series of unscripted therapy sessions with a colleague, Jan Grey, acting in the role of client. Here he shows a number of excerpts from those sessions and discusses the work being done, giving the viewer a clear demonstration of CBT skills in practice.
"This DVD provides an invaluable learning and skills resource for psychologists and therapists who want to further develop their understanding and practice of CBT." Dr Kendra Gilbert, Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, University of East London.
We're very pleased to announce that that the keynote speech at our Counselling Students Conference this year will be Gaie Houston.

Gaie is a significant figure in the world of Gestalt Therapy and you can read more about her on her web site.
Just in case you've forgotten the date of the conference, it's June 13th 2007.
Just to let you know about the Gateways to Learning Project. This is formed from a partnership between the public and academic library services of the former Greater Gwent. They offer free borrowing rights to all the materials held by the partnership, a single cross-catalogue search facility, free delivery service and free information skills support to help students find, evaluate and use information that they might need for projects and assignments. Their team works in the university and also the public libraries, which may be more accessible for some students. This means that you can identify books you need for a particular assignment from a resource much greater than our own library and then have the books delivered to your own local library free of charge.
To make use of this initiative you simply need a Gateways to Learning card - you can join online or at one of the participating libraries. More info at www.gatewaystolearning.com
