As you probably know, the school is very involved in making videos and, each time we make one, a copy goes into the library. The question that starts to become more and more pressing, however, is this - how many people have still got video players and how many people only watch DVDs now? It wouldn't be a problem to start creating DVDs rather than VHS videos if that's what's needed, but we simply need to know what the demand is. It'd be really helpful to have a response here - how many people have still got video players?

Chandi Joshi has just emailed me to say she has a second hand copy of Michael Jacob's "Presenting Past" for sale.

She doesn't say how much she wants for it, but it's a key book, and you can contact her at chandi.joshi@btinternet.com

Want to know what's going on at Newport right now? Just pay a visit to http://video.newport.ac.uk/live/live1 and you'll see. You may well end up with a picture of an empty hall. We're currently involved in our graduation ceremonies which are running all day from Thursday to Saturday - but if you visit the site in an evening you'll probably see nothing but a sea of red seats and an empty stage. Later on you won't even see that - someone will have switched the lights off!

Sorry, and now the web cam's been switched off too!
