"GradeGuru.com is a note sharing platform for college students to share notes, give each other feedback and engage in collaborative learning.
We’re also providing students with cash and rewards for their notes because we believe students should earn for sharing their knowledge.
Our vision is to create a community of students who can rely on each other for academic support - whether through the feedback they receive on the notes that they contribute, or the ability to download their peers' notes for free.
We are setting out to build a network where students can learn online in a way that is specific to their course at their university - the web 2.0 version of a study group."

Having problems doing what you want to do in one of your assignments? Difficulties with formatting? Charts? Graphs? Something else? If so the HSS Technology Enhanced Learning & Learning Support Team (TELLS) is here to help. Contact Julian Green by email (julian.green@newport.ac.uk ) or phone (01633-435275) and he'll arrange a meeting with you. Just one point, this is about helping you present your ideas electronically - Word, Excel etc - not about technical hardware problems - so if you need your hard drive defragged, software installed, a virus stamped on or whatever, the team is not able to help you. We will sympathise, though!
If you're currently trying to come to grips with SPSS you might well be interested in a resource page we're putting together. It's a work in progress, and we'll certainly be developing it further, but there's already a lot there. You can visit it at

Hello!
We’ve added a large “Remote control” to the presentation room in the Visitors Centre on our Second Life Island.
By clicking on the remote you will see a blue pop up menu appear in the top right corner of your screen – just use this menu to choose what you’d like to look at on the screen and then it will be shown/start to play.
Please note you must have Quicktime installed on your machine and have set media streaming to automatic for this to work correctly - click here to watch a video that shows you how to do this.
Feel free to login and give it a whirl!

Hello.
We have now added a method of creating Second Life accounts for staff and students from PCs within Newport University.
The official account creation page has a limit to the number of accounts that can br created per site and we have reached ours - forcing staff and students to create new accounts from home.
This new link to the NMC Campus account creation page lets staff and students create new Second Life accounts from within the University, and lets us support them with face to face training sessions in doing so.
You can access the updated page here:
This year’s NCCCJ conference, entitled ‘Drugs, Alcohol and Violent Crime – Policy & Practice?’ will be held at the Caerleon Campus on Friday 24th April 2009.
A small number of free places are on offer to current Criminal and Community Justice students, on a first come – first served basis. If you would like to put your name down for one of the spaces (confirmation of place will be sent nearer the conference date) then please contact Carl Sykes with your name and contact telephone number on carl.sykes@newport.ac.uk
We are very pleased to tell you that the school's Second Life island is now open to the public.
You can access it easily via our orientation website by clicking on the orange "Teleport Now" button in the top left corner of the site.
Alternatively, you can click on the link below to go straight there:
