The Befriending Service is recruiting on campus on Tuesday 30th September at the Refectory on Caerleon Campus between 11am - 2pm and at the reception area of the Ally-yr-yn campus between onThursday 2nd October 2008 11am - 2pm.
Successful befrienders/volunteers will be required to spend a few hours a week with an adult or child with autism (including Asperger syndrome) or their family. A difficulty with forming friendships means that some people with autism can feel lonely and isolated. As a befriender, you will help to open up a person world and offer vital social contact. Befriending is very much a two-way thing and is extremely rewarding. Visit their stand and you will find more..
Please find attached to this posting the Assessment Criteria Handbook for 2008-9. It is important that all students read this information.
With this posting you'll find a programme for the Social Ethics Research Seminars taking place during the oncoming academic year. These are open to staff, students and the general public. There are still one or two details to be confirmed but we'll be posting more details here just before each seminar. Meanwhile, these are the dates for your diary.
Dear Dissertation Student
It is School of Health & Social Sciences policy that all student dissertation work is in receipt of ethical approval via submission and approval of a Research Ethics Form (RE1). An RE1 form will be made available to you at enrolment and can also be accessed via the Dissertation module on MLE and the School Blog.
The deadline for submission of your RE1 form is 12.30 on Thursday 16th October. Please submit your RE1 form as you would an assignment in the submission box outside the Caerleon School Office. Please ensure your dissertation supervisors name is clearly written on the RE1 form and the assignment top sheet.
A panel will meet on the 23rd October to discuss the submitted RE1 forms and make suitable recommendations. You will receive a letter as to the outcome the following week.
Please ensure you maintain appropriate contact with your named supervisor to ensure your research proposal and RE1 form are appropriate.
IMPORTANT: YOUR DISSERTATION WILL NOT BE SUPERVISED AFTER THE 16 OCTOBER OR MARKED WITHOUT AN APPROVED RE1 FORM BEING IN PLACE
