Last week we held the "Making Newport (even) Better" event - some 60 or so students and members of staff looking at Newport and the way it functions, and thinking about how it might evolve in the future. It's left us with a lot to think about - and for us to continue to discuss as a community. With this posting you'll find a set of notes for the event. They
are notes, and might not make too much sense read in isolation, but if you have any comments, queries or contributions to make, then please post a comment here, or
email us.
The exams probably feel like a very long way away at the moment, but they're fast approaching. If you click
here you'll be able to download the provisional exam timetable.
Please find attached our updated School Health & Safety Policy. It is essential that you are all aware of it’s contents and your resultant responsibilities related to it. You may also be aware that our Health & Safety Noticeboards have also been updated and in AYY we are also bilingually healthy & safe. We soon will be in Caerleon!
With this posting you'll find an updated programme of the School's research Seminars. These have been underway since the start of the academic year and the next one takes place on 30th Janaury, in the Boardroom on the Caerleon campus, when Dr David Purves (London Metropolitan University) speaks on "Self Help and Computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy." Start time is 5.30 and all are welcome.
Health and Safety might always seem a bit dull and worthy, but it's still really important to know what to do and who to contact. The PowerPoint slides attached to this posting tend to be a little AYY campus specific, but the contact numbers apply across the school.
You'll find more information about this event in the enclosed flyer - and further down this blog. It looks as if it'll be an interesting event - and a valuable one - so please come if you can. Please could you also
let me know that you're coming - we need to have some idea of numbers for catering.
