You'll now find a sound file supporting this module on the Resources Page. (And you'll find a link to
that over on the right hand side of this page.
For the most part you're always going to find material supporting individual modules on the mLE under the "My Courses" tag, but this monthly E News from Dr Fiona O'Neill is likely to be of interest to many more of our students than those actually taking the "Values Ethics and Diversity" module - hence the posting here. Files to download, films to watch and books to read. You'll also find a timetable for face to face meetings with Fiona in this attachment - that's only for people who
are taking that module!
School of Health and Social Sciences Open Seminar - a forum for topical research open to staff, students and the general public
The first in this year’s series of research seminars is on Thursday 18 October at 5.30pm – details below. As usual, the session includes a talk, followed by the opportunity for discussion. Refreshments will be available, and all are very welcome.
Dr Brett Smith
School of Sport and Health Sciences, University of Exeter
'Talking Spines: Sport, Disability, and Storytelling Bodies'
Based on life history data, this talk explores the lives of a small group of men who, due to a spinal cord injury through playing rugby union, have made a transition from the world of the able-bodied into the world of disability where they remain to this day. It focuses upon the types of stories these men tell and how people respond to them. It also reflects on how personal and social change may be enabled.
Room: Boardroom (MB A1), Caerleon Campus Time: 5.30pm
Just a note to say there are seven free podcasts from Sir Clive Woodward - "Talent is not Enough" -
here. They're primarily focussed on business management but if you're studying anything to do with team building you may well find them useful.
This one from Hilary Matherson on Sports Exercise Psychology - you can find it on the Resources Page.
We've just added another couple of mp3 files to our Resources Page - one supporting the "Introduction to Research" module, the other "Human Development and Change". Where's the Resources Page? You'll find the link under "School Links" on the right hand side of this blog.
